Thought this was the best spot for this even tho it could fit in Deployment I think.

What I would like to suggest for a coder is a 'Random Member Block'.
I guess it would random select a member from the membersgroup database area.

This Block would have the members avatar with membername underneath centered.
Then below that aligned left would be statistics (primary usergroup, post count, point count, location, …)

Just thought I would bump this up if there's a coder willing to give this a shot.

Updating an "RPG" site and the admin wants to showcase members on the front page in a block.

Trying to find where to tweak it still I guess…

Here's the main_content block with random member chosen:

What the site owner is looking for is that info with their avatar or just their avatar with a link to their profile:

You can use {$OCF_MEMBER_HTML,member_id} to display this:

Just replace member_id with the id of member who's info you want to display.

Visit Last Gamer because its made with ocPortal.

Stay for the content - Video game retrospectives, reviews, galleries and discussions.

So I found the documentation…. love SEARCH options.  :$

Anyway, for the time being, I took a look at:
ocPortal Tutorial: Tempcode programming - ocPortal

In there I saw:

{$AVATAR,2}
The member's avatar (optionally takes a member ID, else assumes current user)

So I plugged {$AVATAR,2} in where I had temp's {$OCF_MEMBER_HTML,member_id} suggestion and it's giving me the address to the member's avatar and not showing the image.

Any suggestions?

Just use a standard image tag like so:

Code

<img src="{$AVATAR,2}">
