Adapt to an choice for more then one languageAs far as I can see there is an option to use the "Random quote" files, its even possible to use more then one file and theres an option to edit the lines in the AdminZone. So far so good, but as ocPortal is able to handle a language change and/or use options to come to a multi language site, I wonder if its much work to extend the "Random quote" program so that we can use translated or files with groups of quotes in other languages so that the program gets a quote from the file that offers lines in the language visitors are working with, and, as with translations, fall back to English or another language if that language is not available? So a dutch member visit the site and the quote shown is one selected from the NL dir/file, and if thats not there, one of the as default selected language, e.g. English, file is selected. There are files with quotes available on the internet with several languages. Just an idea, Puran.

Should be possible. If you set your language to NL (&keep_lang=NL), then go edit, it should save under Dutch whilst leaving the English ones alone. However I think you need to kick-start it by copying text_custom/EN/quotes.txt to text_custom/NL/quotes.txt. If I answered something that you think should be in the documentation, please take the initiative and add it to the community documentation. We really need people to help out here and build a well-organised large support resource. |
