issues with text coloring using a dark theme

I recently added the Member Map Add-on to my ocPortal website, and noticed that the text color for the member information cannot be read. Here is a screen shot of the issue circled in red:

Is there anyway to fix this?

Does this fix it?

Attachment
themes/default/templates_custom/BLOCK_MAIN_GOOGLE_MAP_USERS.tpl
» Download: BLOCK_MAIN_GOOGLE_MAP_USERS.tpl (5 Kb, 144 downloads so far)

I changed a couple of things:
  1. Made the Javascript code consistent with our other code (irrelevant to this bug)
  2. Added a div with the "global_middle_faux" CSS class around the tooltip, which should result in a black box around it in you dark-theme case (white box for light-theme - i.e. inperceptible). This isn't ideal, you may want to tune it a bit more by adding an inline style on the div within this template. Ultimately the issue is that Google Maps is assuming a light-theme a it is putting stuff directly on top of a white tooltip.

For some reason when I try to download your fix, it wants to save it as a strange file type other than the .tpl. Also, if I do get the download figured out, where would I put this file to fix the Member Map?

Thank you Chris.

It saved fine for me when I just tested. Try another web browser if it won't download with what you have, perhaps you have some strange settings somewhere.

I gave the path above.

Community saint

I just tested downloading. Google Chrome (on Linux) wanted to save it as .bin instead of .tpl. Firefox was good.

Try clearing the block cache, under Admin Zone > Tools > Cleanup Tools.

I hadn't tested before, but I did test now – and my change had worked. But the block cache could definitely be blocking the template change coming through.

Ok I cleared the block cache and am still only seeing the name of the user and not the rest of the info as in the screen shot from my last post.

Where can I test this on your site?

In the template, change "global_middle_faux" to "global_middle_faux float_surrounder". That should solve it. The columnisation of the avatar was throwing my fix off (I didn't have one in my test site).

The template – the one I posted earlier in the topic ;).

I don't have the v9 repository open at the moment, so I can't make the change myself right now, but you can do it yourself.

It's worth being comfortable editing that template anyway, as you may want to tweak it.
