ocPortal Tutorial: Releasing a theme

If you've developed your own theme for ocPortal, and would like to share it with others, we strongly encourage you to do so. We provide a catalogue of add-ons, including new themes, on our website; on the catalogue pages you will see a link to submit your theme, and after validation, it will appear for all.Table of contents
Why distribute a theme
- ocProducts itself, does not develop many themes, hence the only way for users to get a very different look to their website is to either re-theme it themselves, download a theme from our catalogue (or another source), or to buy the services of a professional to do the themeing for them. By releasing a theme, you are helping other ocPortal users, and giving yourself and your site some publicity for it.
- ocProducts awards some add-on creators that create high quality add-ons with free registration
- If you make a high quality theme, it is possibly you could get yourself onto the ocPortal professionals directory, and sell your services from our site; it is even possible that you might be able to join the ocPortal team as a consultant.

To actually make a theme pack that is ready for release, you just need to export your theme as an addon (see the attached screen-shot).
Once this is done, all you need to do is to submit your theme to our directory, and it will be included on the ocPortal site once it has been checked for quality, insecurities, and correctness.
